Welcome, once again, to the Weekly WTF. I couldn’t have used a more apt term in the description of this blog if I tried. I think the word “Deface” says it all. Here’s how the American Heritage Dictionary defines Deface: “To mar or spoil the appearance or surface of; disfigure; to impair the usefulness, value, or influence of; to obliterate; destroy”. How incredibly appropriate, don’t you think?

Yesterday was an exciting day. I finally got to meet the much-anticipated Joe and Rudy of Sellsius when they stopped in as part of their Blog Tour USA. We laughed, we cried, we had other strange emotions, and all in all, it was a pretty unproductive day! But we did have fun, and met two really cool guys.

Contrary to popular belief, blogrolls are not good. It might seem like a nice gesture to give props to your blog-buddies on your site, but you’re only hurting yourself where it really counts. Yes, building relationships is important to maintaining an image for yourself, but you really need to make your mark on the search engines. And the search engines don’t like your blogroll.

I have a secret, and I want to share it with you. I did something recently that made a lot of people mad, and they probably hate me now. But hey, at least they’re talking about me. And that’s what’s important anyway. You see, when people talk about you, you get recognition. And recognition brings you traffic. New blogs, or in my case, a new blogger, needs to stir the pot a little to emotionally engage readers to induce commenting. You want to know what I’m talking about, don’t you? You know you do.

Hello, readers, we’re back with the WTF. Apparently I’m stirring a lot of controversy… hmm. That’s just fine. Keep it coming, I can take it! I actually feel just a little bit badly about this one, because Wayne seems like such a likable guy. But, he admits it himself, he has a bad blog.
